SPIRITUALITY CONFERENCE WELCOMES NOTED AUTHOR JOHN MICHAEL GREER
Greer to Lead Opening Ritual and Lecture
Magickal Winter Weekend, a conference celebrating earth-based spirituality in the Pacific Northwest region for the second year in a row, is honored to have as its featured guest John Michael Greer. Greer is the current leader of AODA, the Ancient Order of Druids in America, as well as the author of such books as The Druidry Handbook and A World Full of Gods.
During Magickal Winter Weekend, Greer will lead the conference’s opening ritual, as well as participate in a number of panels. Topics include: an introduction to druidry; a networking panel with a variety of national druidic organizations represented; a lecture on druidic skills and their importance in an environmentally-fragile climate; and a workshop on medieval weaponry.
Sponsored by local Portland alternative magazine New Connexion, Beaverton-based Crystal Heart Books, and national publisher Weiser Books, MWW offers three days of programming. Other offerings include drum circles, an art gallery, vendors, and children’s activities.
Discounted hotel rates are available, as well as both full three-day passes and passes for the artisans’ marketplace only. Full registration information, as well as vendor applications, can be found at the event’s website: www.magickalwinterweekend.org.
